Day 1: Pack, Point North, Arrive Late
Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and back to Montana
Today was mostly a pack-and-travel day.
We didn’t roll out until around noon, which felt about right for a trip that starts with half the house somehow needing to come along. The drive north was uneventful in the best way. No photos. No big wildlife moment. Just road, snacks, and the slow shift into Yellowstone mode.
We made the traditional practical stop at Walmart in Idaho Falls, then pieced together a makeshift dinner in the car: ham sandwiches, chips, and string cheese. Fine dining at its best.
We pulled into our hotel in Gardiner, Montana around 7 p.m., tired but officially close enough to call the trip real.
No sightings today.
Filed anyway.
