Aladdin Sane is an ok album, not really my favorite of his work but its not bad either. Some tracks are really solid, Panic in Detroit is a standout and The Jean Genie is probably the highlight of the whole record for me, that driving riff just grabs you right away. You can tell Bowie was going through a lot making this, touring America and trying to figure out where to go after Ziggy Stardust. Some parts feel a little rushed and unfinished but there are enough good moments to make it worth a listen. I would put it right in the middle, not his best but not his worst. If you are new to Bowie I would probably start somewhere else first, but if you already know his work its worth checking out just for The Jean Genie alone.
